SymBLS is an annual life sciences symposium organised by PhD students from the Babraham Institute and the University of Cambridge. Life sciences is a very broad theme for a symposium, we know! We aim to forge connections between PhD students in Cambridge and learn about all the amazing research happening across institutes.

This years event is on 13th November 2026 and is free for PhD students associated with the University of Cambridge so make sure to register!

PhD students can also submit an abstract for a short talk or poster, we would love to hear your science! Whatever your field is, if it’s related to the study of life, we want to know!

And of course, coffee and refreshments will be provided <3
